Federation of societies of consumer rights protection of Uzbekistan reports that Korea Consumer Agency sent citizen Ms. Minah Kim’s complaint letter to the federation.
According to it, Ms. Minah Kim booked ICN (Incheon)- TAS (Tashkent)- TLV ( Tel Aviv) flight executed by Uzbekistan Airways through Spanish ticket booking agency Travelgenio and purchased 2 one way tickets withdrawing 1 203 177 South Korean won from her credit card on November 6, 2018.
Ms. Kim was informed about the change of flights by the agency. Then she asked Uzbekistan Airways to be provided with a schedule for flights. But employees of airways company told that there was not any change in the aforementioned flights.
Since Ms. Kim was told her flights had been canceled not being offered any alternative flight while she was checking in, she had to buy another ticket to reach her last destination.
She appealed to Travelgenio agency and Uzbekistan Airways asking her booking expense to be paid back. The agency that booked tickets reimbursed 608 449 won (for one ticket booked) on January 29, 2019.
Ms. Kim expressed her displeasure for money which was not reimbursed yet and called for practical aid.
The federation made a talk with Uzbekistan Airways and Korean citizen’s 776 USD was paid back by Uzbekistan Airways through its office in Seoul.
