Corruption is one the biggest challenges on the way of development. It centers on not only Uzbekistan, but also many countries of the world. Corruption appears when there is an abyss between practical legislation “de facto” and laws “de jure”. Bigger abyss is, deeper would be corruption. Uzbekistan struggles against corruption.
Recently President of Uzbekistan signed Resolution on “Additional Measures to Struggle against Corruption”.
Resolution stipulates State Programme n struggle Corruption and renewal of Interdepartmental Commission against Corruption. Generally saying, what is the corruption level in other countries of the world? Is there any country with no corruption at all?
Corruption Perceptions Index ranks countries and territories based on how corrupt their public sector is perceived to be. A country or territory’s score indicates the perceived level of public sector corruption on a scale of 0 to 100.
Uzbekistan scored 23 points out of 100 on the 2018 in this Corruption Index. Uzbekistan added 1 score in comparison with 2017. Corruption Index in Uzbekistan averaged 20.45 Points from 1999 until 2018, reaching a record low of 16 Points in 2010.
Kazakhstan scored 31 points out of 100 on the 2018. Corruption Index in Kazakhstan averaged 26.45 points from 1999 until 2018.
Kyrgyzstan - 29 points. Corruption Index averaged 23.41 Points from 1999 until 2018. We should note that this is the peak of the Points by Kyrgyzstan for last 19 years – the lowest rate of 18 Points was in 2008.
Russia scored 28 points. Corruption Index averaged 25.24 Points.
Tajikistan scored 25, Turkmenistan - 20 points.
According to Report by Transparency International, Denmark is the 1 least corrupt nation. Corruption index makes 1,75 points.
